Established over 25 years ago, Smile Creations Dental Innovations® is an Award winning Dental and Specialist Orthodontic Practice based in the center of Leighton Buzzard, just 40 minutes north of London. We are a boutique family run business lead by principles Dr. Arun Darbar (Laser & Aesthetic Dentist) and Dr. Rita Darbar (Specialist Orthodontist) and are always willing to go that extra mile for your needs.

We understand that most people find visiting the dentist stressful, with some more so than others. We are passionate about providing the best patient care and virtually pain free service.
The Smile Creations dental practice was totally refurbished in July 2011 to provide a relaxed, comfortable and technically advanced environment for our patients to discuss their individual options and personal goals for potential treatments and smile makeovers.
We have special interest in laser dentistry, teeth whitening, crowns, veneers and general dentistry, among others. We have been using lasers for pain-free dentistry for more than 20 years and were the first practice in the UK to have the Hydrokinetic laser, which can be used as an alternative to the traditional and sometimes painful dental drill.
Our overall goal is to provide each and every one of our patients with comfortable and excellent dentistry. With over 50 years of combined experience in dentistry and orthodontics we have the knowledge to provide each individual with all possible options for their treatment.

We take pride in keeping up to date with the most advanced technologies in the dental field in order to provide our patients with all possible available options.
Our equipment is constantly updated to give our patients the benefit of these technological advances in dentistry. We also have in-chair entertainment with television and blue-ray DVD (3D in the Groovy Den) with wireless headphones for our patients to use while undergoing their dental treatments for a more relaxed environment.
We are a team of 5 unique individuals, who together aim to provide the best in patient care. All of our ancillary staff are fully trained and qualified and have either taken the National Examination for Dental Surgery Assistants or are currently studying for it. We also take pride in keeping abreast of the ever advancing science through continued postgraduate education both in the U.K. and internationally for all members of our staff.
Our philosophy on preventive dentistry
Our practice motto is “Working towards Pain Free Dentistry!” We believe in minimally invasive and preventive dentistry and hope to promote more long term and permanent procedures, hence establishing a low maintenance programme. Providing comfortable dentistry to all our patients is of the utmost importance to us and with the aid of ongoing new developments in the dental industry, we hope to one day in the near future provide completely pain free dentistry.

Dr. Arun Darbar is a multi Award winning Laser and Aesthetic Dentist. He was awarded the 2010 SMILE AWARD OF THE YEAR along with taking home another 3 awards that same evening. He has most recently won the “Patient's Smile” award and was shortlisted for the “Restorative Smile” award categories at the 2011 Smile Awards.
Dr. Darbar is at the forefront of Laser Dentistry in the UK and lectures on the subject around the world. He has been using lasers in his dental practice for the last 20 plus years and is dedicated to providing cutting edge dentistry to his patients. He is an Accredited Member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, is on the credentialing committee for them and an examiner for the Academy of Laser Dentistry for many years. He was an invited speaker at the University of Liverpool for the dentistry module for the MSc engineering students.
As a founder member of the World Clinical Laser Institute, he continues to find newer applications for lasers. He also runs courses and trains dentists both in the UK and internationally. Dr. Darbar is the founder of Smile Creations Dental Innovations® and has been practicing in Leighton Buzzard for over 25 years.

Dr. Rita Darbar is a Specialist Orthodontist. Dr. Darbar has been practising orthodontics for over 20 years and treats an array of patients from young children to mature adults. Along with being at Smile Creations Dental Innovations®, she has held senior posts at Bedford and St. Albans Hospitals and has worked as a laser consultant for the research and development department at Biolase Technology Inc. based in Southern California.
She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment, has been interested in laser dentistry for the past decade and has also lectured on the subject in both the UK and internationally. She has been providing elite private and PDS orthodontic care at Smile Creations Dental Innovations® for over 25 years.

Nicola Keith has been a dental nurse for over 15 years. She qualified from Barnfield College in November 2000. Having been in a career she found challenging and rewarding she began a natural progression through interest and ability from surgery to reception where she wanted to concentrate on the patient's first point of contact with the practice team. Nicola's background spans both in the NHS and Private sectors including working with a specialist periodontist. Nicola joined the Smile Creations Dental Innovations® team in April 2009 as our Patient Coordinator and Registered Dental Nurse.

Jessica began her nursing career in August 2000 as a trainee dental nurse at a mixed NHS and Private practice, since then she has extended her career and has experience as an implant co-ordinator, practice manager and head nurse. Jessica is currently studying for her National Certificate in Dental Nursing, and will then begin training to become an Orthodontic Therapist. Jessica joined the Smile Creations Dental Innovations® team in July 2009 and is our Orthodontic Nurse.

Tracy has been working in the dental industry for the past 10 years. She is a registered dental nurse and has previous experience with both nursing and administrative duties. She has worked in the NHS and private sectors. After establishing both roles within her career, she found her calling was at the front desk enjoying the constant interfacing with patients and utilizing her dental knowledge each day. Tracy joined the Smile Creations Dental Innovations® team in May 2011 as our receptionist.
